Gayle obtained a Diploma in Stress Relief in 2002, and ran a holistic stress relief practice in Petersfield between 2004 and 2006. The practice offered a full range of massage treatments, reflexology, weight management and stress relief treatments. Since relocating to Bournemouth she has set up Dorset Stress Relief, with treatment rooms at home in Southbourne and from the Wessex Health Network in Christchurch.
Gayle spent a large part of her career working in IT, and became very aware of the impact that stress can have on ones life. Untreated symptoms of stress can so easily spill over and affect all aspects of one’s life.
Gayle believes that treating the physical symptoms of stress is sometimes more important than dealing with the cause. Often, the causes of stress are unavoidable and our inability to cope with the symptoms only serves to exacerbate the situation even further. If we are able to cope with the symptoms, it then becomes easier to try and deal with the cause.
Gayle is particularly concerned with treating age related and bereavement stress as these are so often overlooked in an effort to “get back to normal” and “not make a fuss”. She has found Thai foot massage to be a particularly effective treatment as it offers the same benefits as full body massage, while at the same time being much easier to access for those less mobile and also for anyone who is particularly distressed.
