Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone therapy is a massage technique and almost self-descriptive. The technique combines massage with the application of heated stones over the entire body, including the face, hands and feet.

The stones are used in two ways. One use is similar to a heating pad where the stones are positioned over or under soft towels above and beneath the client. The second way is using the stones as heated tools, whereby the stones are an extension of the therapist’s hands to work deeply through muscle tension using softly aromatic mandarin body oil. This treatment relaxes the body and mind.

She began by working at the Medical Research Centre and Clinical Pathology Unit at Harwell’s Atomic Energy Research Establishment, Jenny then entered the educational sector and became a Senior Science Technician working at a number of schools in the South of England.

Some years ago a visit to a spa for the weekend with a friend transformed Jenny’s career. She experienced the relaxation and enjoyment of massage and all the benefits it offers. It was this that started the desire to retrain and be able this experience to others. Jenny qualified in Holistic Massage and Indian Head Massage in 2006 and has since added Hot Stone Massage. In Jenny’s own words… “Joining ‘Wessex’ has been most rewarding. Working within a team of therapists we share our knowledge to give our clients the best from their treatment.”
